How to Recognize a Lie

'I would never lie to you,' a former employee announced loudly to me one day when I asked him about some missing bookeeping records. His response was unsolicited and aggressive and so seemed strange to me, for he had been under my employment for 5 years already.

Upon greater observation of the human kind I realized that this guy was an avid liar after all. He had stolen much from me I later realized. Still...being young I couldn't put it all together.

Having gained wisdom with time I figured out that the detectability of such goes like this:

When a person offers an unsolicited, often passionate point, usually in a conversation that he has sought, about some seemingly out of place notion, he is usually exposing right in your face his very own guilt about that which he is rendering.

So this guy was in essence telling me that yes he was a great liar indeed. His inner conscience was speaking out. It required that he spoke as loudly to me in his denial as his guilt is speaking to his very own Superego.
