Observations on Race in America 2015

As an observer and participant in the racial dynamic in America today it seems so odd for me to watch the utter discomfort and anxiety that so many whites (and blacks) feel about discussing these issues. I am perhaps lucky that my blood pressure never escalates with these matters because I know that most people lose it. But it really has less to do with luck and how we choose to wire ourselves. I have always pointed out to friends that it is education which changes one's thinking. The more a person works to educate himself the more his/her circle of friends changes. That circle gets smaller and moves up. And that increasingly diminishing sized circle is filled with his own like-mindedness and includes people of different races. But It gets better even than that. Within these circles there is born a certain freedom and comfort to discuss every issue freely. A bliss if you will. Within that group of trusted friends you look out with the feeling of folly and pity on the discussions taking place in America today.
