Stop Making My phone Beep!

My daughter texting me to stop "making my phone beep...

"I responded with the following:

Daughter "Please stop making my phone beep please and thank you."

Me "Ok, so I think I understand you. From your point of view your valuable moments are being interrupted by the sound of a single intrusive time sucking ‘beep’.But now see the other side of the coin and remember that acknowledging the thoughts of others has long made men wiser. Even more, it has at times prevented men throughout the ages from slaughtering one another!

So here I present to you my perspective:

Rest assured that that "beep" you hear comes from noble intentions. I know you don't open and read every link or tidbit I send you. I often don't even ask if you have. But coming from that silence in my direction is a deeply held hope that drop by drop, I am planting some seeds of curiosity. That these tempered plates of knowledge might one day might fuse with the elegance and beauty which has become essentially you.

Of this, I believe I have only one shot. One small window in my time to influence one who matters most.
